Parque Nacional Natural Uramba Bahía Málaga (National Natural Park)

This is one of the jewels of Buenaventura and Colombia, considered a really important place of natural conservation within the planet. Its biodiversity is so much that the locals do not stop to be surprised with everything that is found there. If this is so, imagine the memories that each visitor of this Park takes home. "Uramba Bahía de Málaga" is located in a big area equivalent to 47.094 hectares (or 137,34 square nautical miles) that has been declared protected by the government of Colombia.

Every year, between July and October, the majestic humpback whales come to visit this place. It is important to see it at least once in life, since it is marvelous. The best of all is that they can be seen swimming in the waters of the National Natural Park, teaching to their calves how to do it. In addition, at any time of the year, you can walk through leafy trails, experience the touch of the magical waterfalls, observe its flora and fauna, taste the unique flavor of the Pacific food and immerse yourself in its authentic beaches. All these are reasons to go repeatedly to this Colombian natural treasure.

How to get here?

From the tourist dock of Buenaventura, you have to board a boat to the village of Juanchaco. There, you have several options to spend your days: visit Bahia Malaga, Ladrilleros, La Barra, Chucheros, among other places. You can also take different boats from Juanchaco to visit some of the other wonders of the Park, such as La Sierpe waterfall, some beaches or just exploring the 57 islands of the park.
