"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
At 4 O’clock in the afternoon, in Ginebra, the smell of warm pandeyuca (cheese bread) from Panificadora Rey, will conquer your sense of smell and palate. This bakery is a must for travelers. Each one of their products preserves the taste and quality even when cold. The pandebono, honorable of El Valle, takes the crown for being the most delightful in this place.
How to get there?
In order to arrive to Ginebra, the ground transportation from Cali offers a bus route. The company Codetrans Palmira takes the route towards Rozo highway and lasts one hour and a half. The bus costs $4.800 Colombian pesos ($1.60).
Arriving to Ginebra’s main park and then taking the Carrera 3ra (highway Ginebra-Guacari) turn left by 6th street, and getting to the Carrera 2da between 200 meters (656 feet) you will find the best pandeyuca place of Ginebra.
