Florida, a peaceful town
In the southeastern part of the Valle del Cauca, you will discover Florida, announcing the arrival of the Central Mountain Range. The river Fraile crosses this territory unknown by many, in which nowadays airs of peace are breathed.
Besides being the only town in the Valle del Cauca with two churches in its main square, Florida is the ideal destination to live extreme experiences, such as flying with "Los guardianes del páramo" in the first indigenous paragliding club in Colombia: "Villa Aventura Extrema."
But also, it is a town that allows itself to walk its streets, enjoying a delicious "Champus" (a traditional Valle del Cauca’s beverage) accompanied by a famous cake that one of the most named women in the area has been prepared for over 45 years. Her store: "Bizcochuelos Doña Leo" can be found asking to anybody placed in the main park of the town.
"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
